To all who donated their time, services, musical talents, and to those who attended last Friday's benefit for Nepal Grassroots Recovery: THANK YOU! The event came together in a matter of days, and we were able to raise $815.00 for the organization! This money will go directly to aid efforts, via our close friend, Matt Rockwell. He had been traveling in the region affected by the earthquakes for several months before they hit, and decided to stay in the area to assist those affected. For information on NGR, or to donate additional funds, please visit www.nepalgrassrootsrecovery.orgThank you to Franklin Taggart for hosting Matt and I live on the air over at KRFC 88.9fm (Matt called in to the show from Nepal to talk about their efforts). Thank you to Steven Wayne Cobb, who volunteered his entire night to run sound for the event. Thank you to Jonathan Sadler, Clint Willcox, Elise Wunder, Derek Blake, Brad Martin and Psychodillo, Alan Thomas Begley and Willie Bean Bluegrass for performing their glorious music, and donating CDs and other swag to the auction! Huge thanks to Dallan J Kilcommons, who matted and donated his gorgeous photography from his recent travels in Nepal, and for all of his help publicizing and helping with the silent auction. Thank you to Chelsea Dionn Pearson for her generous donation of two beautifully hand-dyed silk scarves. Thank you to Rosie Wendel, for coordinating the donation of fairly imported art. And to Riverbird Tie Dye, for donating items to the auction, as well.Finally, thank you to Rob Osborne, for generously donating the space to hold this event at Avogadro's Number.I have been incredibly heartened by the outpouring of support garnered by this cause. The kindness and generosity of our Fort Collins community is a beautiful thing to witness. Thank you to all who came out to support--I know there were about a million amazing shows and events that night, and your presence made this fundraiser a success.
